Why does Clenny see less media than Apple Photos?
Check iOS Settings → Apps → Clenny → Photos. Limited access includes only the photos, videos, and Live Photos you selected. Permission changes, removed assets, and iCloud content that is not locally available can also affect results.
Does Clenny upload my photos or videos?
No. Photos, videos, Live Photos, thumbnails, face features, people names, screenshot and event results, quality results, and cleanup choices are processed on your device. Apple system services may return place names, and the App Store handles purchases. See the Privacy Policy.
What if scanning pauses, runs slowly, or appears stuck?
- Keep Clenny in the foreground for a while and turn off Low Power Mode.
- Make sure the device has free storage and is not under serious thermal pressure.
- Metadata-only results can appear first; iCloud analysis that needs photo pixels retries when system resources become available.
- If iOS suspends a task, Clenny saves progress and resumes when possible.
- If progress still does not change, cancel the scan and choose full reanalysis.
How are videos, Live Photos, duplicates, similar items, screenshots, and events organized?
Videos and Live Photos are identified only from the system media type and subtype supplied by Apple Photos. You can browse and mark each item, then review it in the same Cleanup flow. Motion is requested only when you explicitly play a locally available preview; iCloud-deferred, unavailable, or preview-limited media keeps its still frame and explains the state. Duplicate and similar analysis applies only to photos. Screenshot and event behavior remains assistive.
Which screenshot and event features are Free or Pro?
Free can browse every system screenshot by month, mark or unmark individual items, and view real event totals plus the latest complete sample. Pro adds cross-time similar-screenshot groups with batch actions and the complete list of real events. Purchasing or restoring access does not require valid existing results to be scanned again.
What is the difference between side-by-side choosing and auto-alignment?
Free can view two photos side by side, zoom or move them in sync, and choose what to keep manually. Pro Auto-align Photos adds position correction only: the side you touch stays stable while the other side follows and aligns. Turning it off keeps synchronized zoom and movement available.
How do cleanup reminders work?
With notification permission, Clenny schedules low-frequency reminders from local cleanup status, recent use, and meaningful library changes. Reminders do not upload photos or people/place information, and opening one still requires review and confirmation in the App. Turn them off in Clenny or system Settings.
Where do removed items go? Is storage recovered exactly and immediately?
After confirmation, selected photos, videos, or Live Photos move to Recently Deleted through Apple Photos. Clenny never deletes automatically, does not bypass system confirmation, and does not permanently delete directly. Apple manages recovery periods. Storage figures are estimates and do not promise exact or immediate recovery.
What should I do if deletion fails or only some items succeed?
Successful items leave the selection while failed ones remain. Confirm that Photos permission has not changed, the assets still exist, and iCloud content is available, then retry failed items.
Is Pro a subscription? How do I restore it?
For new customers, Clenny Pro is a non-consumable one-time purchase with no monthly or annual renewal. Choose Restore Purchases in Settings or the Pro page while signed in to the Apple Account used to buy it. The App Store controls prices, currencies, and refunds.
Why does the purchase currency differ from the app language?
The app language controls interface text. Price and currency follow the country or region of your Apple Account’s App Store.
How do I clear local organization data?
Choose “Clear Local Organization Data” in Clenny Settings. This removes scan and analysis results, cleanup marks, cleanup records, people names, and related caches. It does not modify or delete photos in Apple Photos; the next scan recreates results.
