1. Scope and provider

This policy applies only to the Clenny iOS and iPadOS app provided by Lin Zhang (“Clenny” or the “App”). It describes data handling related to photo organization, scanning, comparison, cleanup, and Pro purchases.

It does not apply to other personal software projects recorded by Xencero, or to Apple services such as the App Store, iCloud, Photos, and Settings, which operate under their own policies.

2. Photo, video, and Live Photo access and on-device analysis

After you grant access, Clenny reads the photos, videos, and Live Photos you allow so it can create a local inventory, find duplicate and similar photos, make thumbnails, compare quality, estimate storage, and show organization results. Videos and Live Photos are identified only from the media type and subtype supplied by Apple Photos; duplicate and similar analysis applies to photos only.

Clenny does not operate a server that receives photos, videos, Live Photos, face features, people names, screenshot content, event results, or other analysis results. It does not use third-party AI, advertising, or behavior analytics services.

3. Screenshot and event organization

The screenshot list relies on the system screenshot subtype supplied by Apple Photos. It does not infer content through OCR, filenames, or aspect ratios. Similar screenshot groups use existing visual summaries on the device and exclude items already shown in strict duplicate or ordinary similar-photo groups.

Event grouping uses capture time, nearby-place evidence, and available people evidence, and stores versioned group snapshots on the device. Event titles do not automatically claim unverified facts such as “birthday” or “trip,” and event grouping does not automatically create cleanup selections.

4. Place and people organization

Place organization reads coordinates already stored with a photo. When you choose to use this feature, Apple’s system reverse-geocoding service may process coordinates to return a place name under Apple’s policies. Clenny does not build a location history or send coordinates to a Clenny server.

People organization uses Apple on-device vision technology. Face images, feature representations, names you enter, and grouping results remain on your device.

5. Local cleanup reminders

With notification permission, Clenny can schedule low-frequency reminders based on local cleanup status, recent use, and meaningful library changes. The App gives reminder requests to iOS for local scheduling; no Clenny account or push server is required, and reminders contain no asset identifiers, filenames, thumbnails, people, or place information. You can turn notifications off in Clenny or system Settings.

6. App Store purchases

Apple’s StoreKit and App Store handle Clenny Pro purchases, pricing, currency, transaction state, and restoration. Clenny reads the entitlement verification result Apple provides; it does not receive full payment-card information or your Apple Account password.

7. Local storage and deletion

To resume work and improve performance, Clenny stores asset identifiers, versioned indexes, thumbnail caches, analysis summaries, screenshot and event results, people names, cleanup marks, cleanup records, and related caches for photos, videos, and Live Photos inside its app container. “Clear Local Organization Data” in Settings removes these scan and analysis results, marks, records, and people names, but does not modify or delete content in Apple Photos. Uninstalling also removes data in the app container.

Clenny never deletes automatically. Only after your explicit confirmation does it ask Apple Photos to move selected items to Recently Deleted. Apple manages recovery periods and permanent deletion; storage figures are conservative estimates and do not promise exact space recovery.

8. Permissions and your controls

  • Choose full or limited Photos access, and change or revoke access in system Settings.
  • With limited access, Clenny processes only the items you select; permission changes may invalidate results.
  • Cancel cleanup marks, turn off cleanup reminders, clear local organization data, or uninstall the App at any time.
  • Do not email private photos, face images, identity documents, purchase passwords, or precise locations to support.

9. Children

Clenny is a general-audience utility and is not designed to collect information from children. It does not request an account, birthday, or identity profile. Minors should manage Photos access, notifications, and purchases with a guardian.

10. Changes to this policy

If features, permissions, or data handling change materially, we will update this page and its effective date. Recording another project on Xencero does not expand this policy to that project.
